Welcome!

This blog began as we documented our adoption of our third child, Caleb. It is now an eclectic journal of our often amusing lifestyle with 4 young children.

We do try to "keep it simple" because our lives are obviously busy enough! We try to hold true to what we firmly believe is the most important: family, friends, and faith.

We hope you enjoy our everyday happenings!

Just a little humor for the day...

Our eldest is in 1st grade. Recently, his teacher gave his class the first half of well known proverbs, and asked them to come up with the ending. Here are DS's responses:
  • A bird in the hand.....might pee on you
  • Where there's smoke.....there's firemen
  • The early bird.....gets shot
  • All is fair in.....heaven

Needless to say, Keith and I got a great laugh when we read these! Here are some of the responses from his classmates, too:

  • Laughter is the best...of everything
  • Children should be seen...or invisible
  • A fool and his money...is in jail
  • Money is the root...of money trees
  • Boys will be...husbands
  • Boys will be...naughty
  • Silence is...quiet
  • You can't teach an old dog...to go to the bathroom
  • Don't put off tomorrow...what is not done
  • Early to bed, early to rise...then go to school

We hope you enjoy these as much as we are!

Referral Anniversary!

This is one day early, but January 19th will be the one year anniversary of Caleb being a part of our lives. It was on January 19th of last year that we received the phone call from our agency that has forever changed our lives - that there was a beautiful little boy in need of a home. Although we never imagined that he would STILL be in Guatemala one year later, we are still just as excited of the prospect of bringin him home with us forever.

So...HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, CALEB!!!
