Welcome!

This blog began as we documented our adoption of our third child, Caleb. It is now an eclectic journal of our often amusing lifestyle with 4 young children.

We do try to "keep it simple" because our lives are obviously busy enough! We try to hold true to what we firmly believe is the most important: family, friends, and faith.

We hope you enjoy our everyday happenings!

Serious Flooding In Guatemala

Many of you who follow our blog know that Caleb was born in a small town in northern Guatemala. The area has been hit with terrible flooding, the worst flooding in decades. Here is an article that describes it in a bit more detail:

Through our birth certificate fiasco a year ago, I was fortunate enough to come into contact with a family who lives in the town where Caleb was born. Dara (hi Dara!!!) has been so kind as to e-mail me TONS of pictures, which we keep and cherish, and will share with Caleb as he gets older. She sent me some pictures of the flooding as well:
Please keep everyone affected by the flooding in your thoughts and prayers. If you run across an organization who is working to help this affected area, please let me know.

It is quite impressive. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

All of this just makes me realize how much I take things for granted here in the US -- whenever I've experienced a hurricane; a state of emergency is declared and the next thing you know there is huge mobility to get everything back to normal. Sometimes, it happens better than other times. Point is, it happens. we take that for granted.

hoping and praying that the water recede and that they will be well.
